To clarify a bit. The SRS system can be 'read' for error codes only by the dealer or shop with the proper tool. This is the only way you can determine where the fault is that is setting off the light. It cannot be reset by power cycling it. period. Steering wheel contact, contact to the accelerometers or the accelerometers themselves are the standard causes. The same tool is required to reset the system to turn off the light.
