If we're talking about the J.D. power Initial Quality survey, it applies to new cars and is really rating how many things had to be fixed within the first few months, if I recall correctly. A better reference for long term use is the Consumer Reports rating. Bad news is that on a car as new as the current 9-3, they don't have enough of a database compiled yet to offer any ratings. BUT, Consumer Reports ratings of SAABs in general have been going up, I believe, in the last decade, certainly way up since the days when my C900 was manufactured.
