Case Dismissed! Last night's court-date went bizarrely. The police officer couldn't recall the incident; so, he started to fabricate a story about pacing my car, then exiting the highway to re-enter behind me to pace me more (none of these "facts" were noted [as required] on the citation). Anyway, I got him to change his story/testimony at least three times; the judge was very amused. CAUTION: During my "research" of Georgia speeding laws I learnt that only visual estimation is needed to secure a charge of speeding (Nairon v. State, 1994 and Jones v. State 2002)! At that point the only area left for argument is the actual speed (which affects punishment/fines/insurance [Wise v. State, 1998]). Be CAREFUL in Georgia (well, be careful everywhere). J.E. Interestingly, the officer didn't use any clocking device (vascar, lasar, radar, or the patrol vehicle). Claiming to have seen me speeding as he accessed the roadway (four-lanes over from my travel lane), he selected "other" as his means of determining my speed. Obviously, I am going to dispute his clocking "method" in court; anyone care to share any helpful advice on how to "beat" this rap (other than reschedule the court-date or "slow-down" [damn turbo!]).
