You should make sure the boots are intact. On the other hand, a bad wheel bearing makes a droning sound that is much more pronounced when turning one one way over the other. I have had two wheels bearings go (both in the front) in our family Saabs. One in a 900 and one in a 9000. You can go quite a way before complete failure but the sound will eventually drive you crazy. It a good idea for safety's sake to replace it early. Good luck, R.
