Hi, I can't remove the CV joint from the hub. My hub puller would not take the road wheel bolts of the car. So I used an ordinary puller and some fittings I had made for previous cars. I bend the fittings :-) Now a different hub puller has been bought ... it has bigger gaps for the road wheel bolts. See if this http://www.machinemart.co.uk/search.asp?q=hub+puller (2nd item down the list) has the necessary strength + big hammer on my part to crack the seal between CV joint and hub. If I can remove the CV from the hub then I can work as you suggest. ============== So how much hammering is needed? > > You need a gear puller to remove the tripod bearing. Pullers I have, heavy hammers too ... it is just I don't like hammering :-) -- Please remove _removeme_ to reply.
