Wholeheartedly agree. I almost didn't test drive the 9-2X because of my experience in the WRX (I thought, "How different could it be?") and after reading the leukwarm "professional" reviews (did these writers actually drive the car???). I am very happy that I convinced myself to do so and look forward to the next 200K miles!

I test-drove EVERY five-door under $30K as a replacement, and while I liked the main WRX features (acceleration & AWD) and looked forward to the test drive, I didn't like the looks, trim, or ride afterward. The only car that was a real contender to the Aero (IMHO) was the Mazda6 s Sport Wagon, which has the GREAT 6-spd Sport AT. I could have had more options and an acceptibly sporty ride for the same money, but one long test drive in the Aero negated the need for further consideration. Bought it right there and haven't thought twice about it. Besides, the 9-2X looks 92X better than any other five-door--even above its class! The appreciation for the car is evident everywhere I go. I was at the Summit Racing Mustang show today and had people swarming over it in the parking lot!
