The Aero is underpowered coming from the Viggen, particularly since I went with the automatic, but it made sense for my daily commuting habits right now. Other than that just about the only thing I miss are the superior seats in the Viggen. It's not that the Aero is slow compared to your average sedan on the road, it's just that the Viggen was so dang fast. The Aero has much more composure on poor roads and really takes tight curves without much drama. Torque steer is there but minimized (of course if the car had more torque . . .) I believe that one of the reasons the Aero handles so much better is better weight distribution and part of that was the use of the aluminum block engine. Using the 2.3 in the Viggen may have upset this weight balance.

Many have indicated that a $900 (or less) Stage 1 BSR PPC software upgrade will make it a much faster car (247HP/286TQ). Even at 6K miles I feel like the engine continues to open up the more I drive it so I'm going to wait a bit longer before taking the plunge but I likely will before too long. I think it's a great car and you should drive a 5-speed before making your decision.
