Two week ago, when I went to fill my '03 9-5 Linear with gas, the pump nozzle shut of immediately and wouldn't stay open. I thought it was the particular pump and nursed in the gas until the tank was full.

Last week I had the same problem at a different service station. I decided that it wasn't the previous weeks pump nozzle, but rather my car - thinking that it was probably a vapor issue since it was incredibly hot on both days (but this never happened on hot days in the past three summers).

This week, on a cooler day, at a third service station I had the same problem. If I pull the pump nozzle back to the edge of the port lip it seems to take approximately 0.1 - 0.2 gal. to fill to the lip. Then the gas slowly goes down (3-4 seconds)and I refill to the lip and repeat the process. It took almost 20 min to put 15.5 gal in my car.

The gas line seems to be mostly obstructed. I called the service dept at the local dealer and they quoted me $615 to replace the tank. I believe there is a "roll-over" valve in the line, could this be the issue? Any experience/solutions? I don't want to believe I have to replace the entire gas tank.
