Spacers are a great solution to getting the ride height right. I don't feel it is a replacement for bushings and suspension adjustments.
bottom line is that 100,000 mile Saab 95 suspension in the rear is going to have bad lateral bushings upper and maybe lower. The springs are going to be sacked. The forward trailing arm bushing may be OK, but replacing with poly bushing makes a huge difference. And the shocks are certainly shot.
lets remember that this is a 3 link rear suspension and it is sophisticated. When the ride height is low and the rubber bushings are worn, the toe in and camber can and will be out of spec.....and of course sagged springs will also give you bottoming and tire rubbing.
There are spacers on eBay that come in 3mm thicknesses and are great for moderate adjustments. I like them better than doing it in 1" increments.
