Your items #1 and #2 make me suspect there may be a problem with the tranny. My lpt 4-cyl has a very slight vibration at idle that can only be felt in the steering wheel, and this is after 72,000 miles!

I also don't have noticeable turbo lag. My salesman and others at the local Dealership have told me that the 4 cylinder is less susceptible to this than the 6 cylinder (not that I always believe the salesman). Makes some sense with less rotating mass to get moving quickily.

A bad pump in the transmission could cause both problems. Besides the converter shell, it is about the only transmission part rotating at idle. If it is bad, it could be causing this vibration AND supplying deficient flow/pressure which would cause the acceleration lag.

Your other comments all seem to make sense when comparing a 6 cyl versus a 4 cyl engine. The 6 being more powerful and slightly more thirsty.

Since you still have warranty coverage, I would recommend getting this vibration problem investigated.
