I installed a Yaesu FT-7100 in my '01 Aero sedan last year. It went smoothly.

The head is mounted in the little cubby where an ashtray might go. I removed this and drilled a hole small enough to run the control cable through. The head itself is velcroed in place.

The speaker's on the RH side of the passenger footwell and the mounting bracket's screwed in place.

The control head and speaker wiring was slipped into the wiring loom that's under the door sill plates in both RH doors. The sill plates pop out and snap back into place.

The rest of the rig's mounted on the parcel shelf, right next to the OnStar box. In your case, mounting adjacent to the OnStar in the wagon is the way to go.

To power the radio, I tapped the trailer hitch wiring harness (sorry, can't remember which wire, offhand) and put a fuse in the panel to activate the circuit. The circuit's rated at 30A and is continuously powered, so now you can have the radio on without having to start the car! I grounded to the car body near the power connection.

For an antenna, I use a dual-band Larsen NMO mount attached to a right-hand trunk lip bracket.

You're probably going to want to drop the D-pillar trim and the headliner to drill holes in the roof, or else try one of the Diamond antenna mounting brackets designed to mount to a hatch/liftgate.
