Okay, I need to vent.
I have a problem with reverse.
wont go into it, reverse that is.
had the gear box update kit put in last sept under warrenty at 48k, this was to fix a problem with 5 gear and reverse... well phooie.
last week I had to take it to the dealer, this dealer is new to saab, previously handled only cadillacs and olds. They just took over the local francise a few months ago.
I explained the problem and prior repair work. They have no idea whats wrong and didnt want to honor the warrenty done on the work from the previous dealer. They claimed 12000 mile warrenty, but later retracted that after looking at Saab paper work. (1 year on repaired parts and labour). Im at 68k now.

Dropped off the car on tuesday last week and by late thursday still no idea whats wrong!!! couldnt diagnose the problem. Friday they claim its a/the "fork" in the manual transmition. hmmmm. didnt sound kosher to me!
They didnt have the part in stock to replace it but might have it in late in the day. They called later to say they didnt have the "tool" to fix the transmition!!! Why wouldnt a certified dealer have the right tools? They said they were going to borrow one from another dealer or possible buy one.
Im raising red flags at this point.
They offerd me a new 9-2X till they get it fixed. Nice jesture after telling me they dont do loaner cars.
Monday I call to see whats going on. Im told they have more problems. Apparently they damaged other parts in the transmition while trying to repair the reverse issue. Now Im royally pissed!!!! They wont give me any idea of cost , or if this is even going to be covered by warrenty.

No clue how long its going to take to get my aero back!!!!!

Any thoughts on reverse failure? Im not a mechanic and dont know transmitions, but it seems fishy to me that a cert dealer cant get this right or have the tools to do it! It shouldnt take over a week to correct this issue!!!!!
In the meantime Im racking up the miles on their 9-2X and at least smiling
bout that.
Thanks for letting me rant about this.
