These boys from chipcenter are very nice and I like them very much. They progress forward. The price and service was exceptional with them. Just perfect.

First think when I arrived was to change the oil and the tranny fluid.
The oil was about 7K milles (3,000 of which are on highway). The trany fluid was aboud 15K milles old.
I always use engine flush before draining the oil. I try to use non petroleum based flushers but they are not always available.

For the tranny I change it preventively to avoid any dammage on the transmission. I see mixed opinions about changing interval for fluid with AISIN transmisions. I noticed that old fluid (20-30K old) makes problems (serious lock and kick) when shifting from P to R and from N to R. This problem seems to disapear ofter fluid change.

I used engine oil treatment once on my both 9-5. It was some kind of FLORIDA based small company that provided this anti sludging products. I drove it 1500 miles with it (it was oil additive). On the new SAAB (Gary Fisher Auto) it did not removed any sludge. On the manual however it barely removed some. I have zero oil usage for both vehicles inside 5K miles distances. I alsways use FRAM medium priced oil filters and Mobil1 5W30 (0W30 occasionaly).

Unfortunately now I have no budget left for more upgrades. I am close to other major repairs - manual clutch, manual gearbox, suspension/bushings exchange. Both cars are just above 100,000miles and I like to spare money for more urgent repairs.

I changed the throttle body and now runs just perfect.

I defenately have to come into your shop for consult and diagnostic to figure out what exactly and when I have to work on my old manula 9-5.
Look forward for close meetings.

Uri
