More than 200 hp has been accomplished by several on this board, but it isn't easy.

First, before any upgrades, make sure your car is in good shape. Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, tranny fluid, oil, coolant, etc. You might want to replace (or at least thoroughly check) all the rubber vacuum lines with silicone lines. Don't try to make your car go fast if it can't even run right stock!

Fr starters, take a lok at SPG9 (http://www.spg9.com) and Sweedish Dynamics (http://www.saabperformanceparts.com) Both of these places are respected around here and provide all the gadgets you need. A good understanding of how your engine systems work is essential to doing to proper upgrades.

To start with, most people do an APC box tweak or upgrade. This allows your turbo to boost to higher pressures, and is probably one of the easiest ways to get more power. With just this, you can probably get in the 170's.

Upgrading the fuel system is needed to get any more power, otherwise if you just try to increase the boost more you will encounter knock, causing the APC to back boost off. Changing the fuel presure regulator to a higer pressure unit or a rising rate unit can allow you to adjust for higher boost, thus boosting hp again, up into the 180's maybe.

Beyond those two upgrades, I'm less knowledgeable. I'm sure others can help. But, there are a slew of options - better ignition timing control units, bigger/better intercoolers, ungraded turbos, etc. My guess is that you'd need lots of these things to get much over 200 hp. There are of course lots of less significant upgrades/tweaks you will need. For example, many people hit the overboost fuel cutout safety switch when doing significant upgrades. This is easily altered or removed.

Happy Saabing!
