Had a similar episode with a 1993 900t.
Turns out that the light inside the cargo area stayed on.
There's a light near the underside of the speakers (I don't know if you have one), and the hatch was not depressing the switch all the way, when closed. This drained the battery almost EVERY night.

I have tinted windows, so it was hard to see that the light was left on. Try taking the shelf out of the hatch, and close the hatch. If it's left on, adjust the hatch-catch (how else is it called???).

Problem subsided after that. ...after demanding that the local autoparts replace a defective battery... TWICE! Now, I'm really embarrassed to go in there (although they don't know the real reason behind the juice drain).

Try the lights before going in and pulling fuses (don't get me wrong - fuse-pulling is the sure-est way of confirming the malady), since the light switches can go bad after some years.
