Hi Gang,

I just had my tires replaced today.

I had the Nokian NRV 195/60R-15 on my 89 900 auto non turbo since I bought this car. I also have other friends who own old 900's and from driving mine, they always wondered why my car ran so smooth and quiet. Now I know.

I replaced these tires today at LesSchwab in Portland,OR., which is the most reputable shop around here, with their featured brand:

87H Grand Spirit Aqua Flow GTX 185/65R-15 $68.01 ea

I changed the tire size b/c previous post here said this size would give me a smoother ride. Also, they said this tire is supposed to be comparable to my old Nokian tires but as soon as I drove off, I could hear and feel the difference. The smooth and quiet ride of my Saab is gone(sigh...).

My question is, does anyone know why these two tires ride so different? These tires I bought weren't the cheapest tire and considered one of the shop's best and most advertised. Shouldn't I get a smoother ride changing from 195 to 185's?

Anyone know where I can get Nokian NRV tires and how much I should expect to pay? Or recommend a guaranteed quiet, smooth, long lasting tire? thanks for reading
