I managed to get the 17mm bolt out by using my friend the arm pivot bolt...tightened that sucker back down so alt wouldn't swing when I cranked on the 17mm.... finally got the damn 17mm bolt out of there, along with the bottom 6mm hex...so all bolts are out...now gotta get the damn alt out of there... disconnected heater hoses.... AC hose that goes over that area is a real pain. Disconnected vaccum hose going to brake vaccuum assist...hope this doesn't screw me over later...disconnected MC from vaccum assist thingee, but it won't come off b/c brake lines are metal, don't bend. Meanwhile dropped one of the MC securing nuts into the depths of oblivon...hopefully can find it once I get the alt out. Did I mention that the throttle line is a royal pain? Taking a break before trying again to weasel the damn thing out.... Getting it back in and reassembling I am dreading... hope I didn't screw anything else up along the way.

Why didn't I pay someone to do this? Any help gladly accepted.
