After having my head gasket job done, my 900 is running hotter than before. I still haven't been able to figure out why, and was wanting some more input.

The temp needle has pushed a little over 3/4 or abouts. It ONLY does this if you are going at a steady speed (say anything over 50 mph) for an extended period of time. I have never had the guts (I think that would be stupid) to see if the needle will nudge past the 3/4 range and go into the red zone.

It DOES NOT get hot if the car just idles. In fact, if the gage is at the 3/4 mark, and you pull over, stop, or just slow down in stop and go traffic, the needle will go right back down to the middle with the help of the fans.

It is the strangest thing. Normally, in my experience, a car will get warm when Idling, or stop and go traffic NOT when it's going at a steady speed. In my car's case, the farther you go with the cruise on 70, the higher the temp needle rises.

Could maybe the thermostat for some strange reason, is closing back or getting stuck? I can clearly see that the thermostat is opening (via the initial "drop" on the temp gage when it does open), but from the point the thermostat opens, the temp will rise while cruising. Bad gage?

any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
