pulling a dash can be done in 5 min if you know what you are doing and have help. Puting it together can take upwards of 30 min. realisticly it might take about 45 min to remove and 1.2 hrs to install the first time. I have replaced these bulbs before and would rather pull a dash than rotate tires.

You can get a bulb out by removing one of the selector switches located under the climat control knobs - ac, recurculation, emergincy flashers, defrost. take it down to checker auto parts or Auto Zone. My brother gets his at Checker so I know they have them. - he had to order so it took a day to get them from another store.

before starting check under the left speaker grill and look at the long metal piece that connects to the temp control switch - rotate switch to see what I am talking about - this is importand so you can reasamble properly to ensure the ability of turning up and down heat

1.remove the stering wheel -
2.remove torq and flat head screw on plate that is directly under wheel
3.remove long screws located alond the bottom of dash
4.pull back dash 3" - this is when the temp control shaft will come disconected from the temp control unit - located on the firewall of car
5.remove headlight on off switch
6.remove dimmer switch lead
7.remove the 4 selector switches (ac, defrost, emergincy flasher ect) and reatach after it is removed from dash - let dangle
8.remove vacume system hose - giant clip with 7 -8 small vacume hoses atached - don't wory about reataching as it is a solid rubber piece and it only goes one way
9.disconect stereo and antenna connection
10.find the burned out bulbs and pull them out of there spot

Note if you want to disconect everything else (cigarett and blower molded plastic conections) it is easy accept the 5 connections that are attached to the vaccum plastic piece - I just lable a,b,c,d,e with a sharpie

Reasamble and put your hand throught the speaker grill to guide the metal bar into its original post- this controls the heat

Note to test lighting before reasibling just conect the reastat - the dimmer switch below the headlight or you can bypass with a small piece of wire to connect the two plugs

reasamble and enjoy a saab lighting the way it was designed
