I recheck my 85 replacement pump part number...same as orginal..as Jim indicated....# 0 580 254 953,,,perfect fit up..late model 85 8V...pump has a 2-3/8" OD.

Couple of comments: How far the pump sits down into the black interstage tank is important. Mark two lines on the side of the new pump as measured from the top of the pump...one 46mm down....the second 50 mm down...pump is inserted into the black tank to the 50 mm mark....bottom lip of upper rubber bellows should line up to the 46mm mark. All of this to make the proper clearance to the bottom of the gas tank. You can have up to a 2mm error in each mark point. Also inlet strainer screens are very important to keep garbage out of the pumps. I had an orginal mismanufactured prepump screen which has an epoxied nylon screen over the inlet opening. The screen was not centered on the inlet and there was an open gap which garbage could get into the pump...both pumps has its own screen...replacement screens are available...
