Anyone use Valvoline synth brake fluid (long clutch Q)?

I'm still having problems with my clutch. Here's the history. First symptoms were a soft clutch pedal. It would start out hard at first, then over the drive would go soft - not completely, but allowed 1 1/2" freeplay before resistance. I replaced the clutch master and got little change. Rebuilt my old one, replaced the new one and the pedal still went soft - but not as much.

In the meantime, I replaced the clutch (it was overdue anyway - and I buggered the threads on the slave when I replaced the clutch hose).

So, with all the new parts (everything except the supply hose from the resevoir and pedal - no pivot hole play. Also swapped the new master back in) it still has some freeplay. Bleeding it gets the solid pedal back, but no bubbles. The pedal still starts out perfect in the a.m., then goes soft by about 1", but I can now pump the pedal back up again. So, either my new master is leaking past the seals, or the brake fluid is funky. I've always flushed with new fluid, but I now recall this all begun coincidentally about the time I replaced my calipers and flushed all the old fluid out of the system (clutch too). Does anyone have odd experiences with that Valvoline fluid - or do I need to hassle Jim about his master again ((Sobstory - he says he's never had a bad new one).
