Just took my 89 turbo in for the same thing today, after talking with my mech about the reputation of the auto trans and what I could do to prevent failure. He recomended replacing the tranny fluid with each engine oil change. This sounded like a lot, but he said that the way the transmission is made, its hard to completely drain the system, so what you end up doing is diluting the old oil with new oil, and if done regulary the auto will last forever. May be excessive? but for the price of 3Qts of tranny fluid at each oil change why not!--Robert
