Hello All,
I installed a VDO vac/boost gauge (20psi) in the upper DIN slot yesterday. What I did was T off the intake manifold (the vac lines closest to the driver). The actual vac line that I T'd off was the one that runs under the windshield rain tray. And I ran that through the firewall and into the dash.
Then last night, I looked up VDO on here and it was mentioned that all you need to do is T off the current boost gauge. So my first question is: What is better (aka more accurate)? I am going to try to get the light on the gauge hooked up tonight, and for that I just tap into the ashtray light, correct?
I did a couple of third gear pulls last night to see how much I was pushing, and it went up into the 12-13 psi range (Haven't touched the APC or Wastegate yet). Is that how to measure boost? I tried to accelerate to 3k rpms and keep it there using the brakes to provide resistance, but I couldn't get the boost high doing that.
