If this is cofee or Coke, then the lock cylinder is "stuck" to the hole it sits in. You need to remove the lock cylinder and clean it and the hole, THEN spray wd40, and then spray in some Lithium grease. Then spray inside of lock with wd40. then replace.

If you want instructions on how to remove the lock cylinder, place another post and I will be glad to repost the instructions. Either that or search my older posts by clicking on the blue section on the top of this reply that says "more from Chaz". I posted a long time ago.
