dont get me wrong here cos i can see your point.. but just how long should folks keep useing motor cars with safety as a paramount issue.. without having them checked over on a regular basis that is.. the older they get the more they need checking..
i can see a benevolent government saying no cars ovver ten years allowed on the road for example if too much is made of such failure issues.. and if too many folks think like u they would have a point..
if it happens during a cars reasonably expected service life your point is entirely valid.. but after that it isnt.. its down to the individual user.. or if too many users expect things to last forever.. thats when your benevolent masters step in and take over your resposibility from u..
as far as i know a design life of ten years or 100k has always been the quoted figures.. once u go over this its up to u.. or it should be..
