First of all , thank you very much for helping me to get this far with things . I was able to get a swinging voltage reading from my newly installed O2 sensor on my stock 88 SPG . I attempted to get this voltage to swing as evenly as possible with AMM adjustments and noticed that it was difficult to discern if my adjustments were making the voltage swing more evenly on my analog meter . I next plugged my meter into the test socket's 2 holes for the fuel mixture and obtained a reading of around 0-1v steady . After turning the AMM screw clockwise 1-2 turns the voltage started swinging between approximately 1 and 12 volts . I then adjusted the AMM more in order to get the meter's needle swinging as evenly as possible between 0 and 12 volts and noticed that the voltage fluctuations did respond to this adjustment . So now the meter's needle spends about as much time by 0 volts as it does by 12 volts , but the swinging needle's movement is only smooth and consistant part of the time . Sometimes it twitches or hesitates on its way to 0 or 12 volts . More frequently it hesitates at 0 or 12 volts before heading back in the other dirction . Despite these inconsistancies I was able to get the needle to average as much time on one side of the spectrum as the other . Is this signal coming directly from the ECU ? Ari called it buffered . What does that mean ? Is it normal for it to not fluctuate smoothly at all times ? If its not normal what would cause this ? Is using the test socket signal more accurate than using the O2 signal for determining if the A/F mix fluctuations are exactly where they should be ? Is the test socket signal directly proportional to the pulses sent to the injectors ? Thank you very much in advance .
