In the Saab 900 drivetrain the right side is the primary drive from the ring and pinion, and thus gets more stress and wear than the LH side.
The proximity of the exhaust pipe, and the tendency of these joints to leak some grease allow the joint to become dry or almost dry if not serviced. If caught early the addition of grease can make the joint useable for many more miles. CV type grease should be added to the joint 'cup' not just into the boot. With front raised and on stands it is fairly easy to slide under the car, loosen large 'hose' type clamp on the inner driveshaft boot, pull the boot back and add grease. If the grease that's left in the joint is hard and dry, try to pull as much out with your fingers before adding new. Sometimes this joint will be dry and somewhat rusty, causing the 'acceleration vibration'.
