I'm not familiar with convertibles, but have to agree with the other poster about getting in the trunk with a flashlight, and having someone water it down. Water can migrate behind the carpet lining, so you may want to remove as much of that trim as you can to expose the root.

Honestly, all of the same stuff applies from my previous post if the car is leaking while stationary, with regard to removing carpet, knee bolster, etc. Get it out, leave it out to dry, and search. Its not convenient, and passengers will wonder what's up, but its the only way. Its very likely you have a couple of leaks. You can replace the center console w/out the bolster, and drive no problem. Just put floormats right on the floorpan. At least with stuff removed, you can towel up any water, eliminate some possibilities, and keep searching.

I'll relate a few stationary leaks I found. Water got under he rubber 'boot' at the base of the windshield wiper arm, migrated to the steering column, and inside. Also had a leak where the shifter passes through the firewall, but this was more of a moving leak.

The bane of my existence this summer was a leak where the A/C evaporator housing and drip tray pass through the firewall. There's a rubber seal that should keep water out, but had certainly shrunk. All of the drains were fine, but water was still somehow getting in. Siliconed both inside and engine bay side, as far as I could reach, and so far so good. The inside required removal of the knee bolster and seat, so I could get my hand up there.

The only shortcut I can suggest would be to run a bead of silicone UNDER the windshield seal. All the way around, especially the corners. On my 86, I actually have to gunk up those metal corner clips pretty well to keep them sealed, and smeared a layer of silicone across the two seams.

If you haven't already, search this board for 'water leak,' 'water floor,' etc. While there are some usual suspects, every car's going to be different.

Keep me posted
