Sure you can . . . . i've roughly set up the camber after replacing a damaged front control arm in the past.

First get the car on a level piece of pavement (a level garage slab for instance). You only need to make sure that the car is level side-side between the two front wheels (front to back is less of a concern). A long 4' construction level can help with this. Once the car is sitting correctly get a small (1') carpenters level and place it against the front rim on the unmolested side. Make sure that you keep the level in a vertical orientation. The 1' level won't span the whole rim of course- you just want to pick two point on the rim (lip to lip) that are in vertically aligned plane. Now take a look at the bubble in the level and note its position. It should indicate that the wheel is pretty much vertical but leaning outwards at the top (ie. a wee bit of positive camber). This is what you want to match on the other side of the car. Add or subtract shims until the two sides are approximately the same.

After you have done this you will want to set (or at least check) the toe as well. This is also pretty easy to set roughly. Get a long metal measuring tape and measure from tire to tire behind the front wheels. I typically hook the tape onto a likely looking band of tread and find its twin on the other side. You want to get the tape up as high on the wheels as possible but not interfere with the underside of the car. Then do the same in front of the front wheels (you want to do the measuring at the same vertical distance from the ground as you used behind the wheels). Compare the two distances. They should be fairly close however the measurement in front of the wheels should be less than behind the wheels- this means the car is slightly "toed in". I like to set up the car to be toed in by ~ 1/8".

This should actually give you a pretty good basic alignment.
