The nut that preloads pinion bearings is for "47mm" wrench. I ordered adjustable wrench. I don't recommend to use "pipe wrench" or "tube wrench" cause they will eat and damage the nut.
Also heater gun will be of some help when pressing pinion bearings into the hub. Just don't get the hub heated too much since aluminum... Long story short: don't go above 350C (660F).
The 3rd (and probably, the main) point to add is that it's a must to either replace the crash sleeve (or whatever you call the bushing between those pinion bearings) or hummer it a bit to get it lengthened to original length.

For all the other specs and advices I'd recommend to search this BB for CMyles posts or/and to order Saab 900 Manual Transmission Service Manual 4.1
