Always a good idea to check your grounds anyhow, but your issues all seem to point to the alternator as the culprit.

When the bushings wear out the alignment of the alternator pulley is slightly off which could be the cause of your squealing.

Replacing the alternator ground wire is a simple thing to do, and as the bushings isolate the alt from ground it needs to be in 100% good condition

As the alternator vibrates over time, it can break some of the strands within the wire causing poor contact thus poor ground. Just replacing the wire may cause the symptons to go away, but not the real issue

Also a good time to have a look at the alternator brushes, water pump, and belts
