Question 1: I believe the switch you mean is the one that tells the seat heater circuitry that someone is sitting in the seat, in which case yeah, heat it, or that no one is there, so don't. Should be linked in some way with the seat bottom so it gets told when someone's there. There's none in the driver's seat because it's a slam dunk that there's a driver in the seat when the car is being driven, so that's assumed, no switch needed.

Question 2: Yeah, that is the problem that lets one side of the seat back to move while other doesn't. The problem as I understand it from several posts on here is the outer housing that breaks, for which several cures have been figured out. Easiest is I think sleeve it all with a split-open piece of say fuel line rubber hose, then put hose clamps along it in several places to hold all the pieces in place. Or you can buy the sleeves, brand new, I think from site sponsors such as our fave, eEuroparts. I've never heard of the inner metal flex cable breaking but of course if that did it plainly would be a problem too. Maybe save one?

Question 3: Not sure I know the answer but I can say I've never read anything on here about any problems with the frame, or with the gears or even the motors.
