Start by bleeding the system, using pressure. However, given the eratic nature of the problem, it's likely that you need a new slave cylinder. Also check that the hole in the clutch pedal where it attaches to the master cylinder isn't worn. If worn, the fix is to drill out and either use a bigger pin or install a bushing, or weld and redrill. A new clutch pedal obviously works too.A clutch that isn't disengaging properly will cause poor shifting, so fix the clutch hydraulics before concluding that the transmission is in trouble. Even under the best of conditions, Saab 5-speed transmissions don't shift very well.
IMHO, Redline MTL is oversold. When used in my cars I saw only marginal improvement in shifting, but also noted increased wear as indicated by the amount of filings on the drain plug magnet. Townsend Imports recommends Amsoil 20-50 motor oil. Check their site for additional details and their comments on Redline.
