If the battery is in good shape, leave it connected. Two weeks should be fine.

There are plenty of 'lesser' cars that eat batteries - check out comments on the Miata, where with the early ones the alarm would run the battery down in a few days.

Normal draw on the battery is around 25 milliamps. This is about 10 ma for the clock, a few ma for the radio/ECU, and another 10 ma or so for the central locking/alarm. Slightly higher if you have keyless remote.

A normal lead acid battery loses about 1% of its charge a day just sitting there. For a good battery, that 25 ma from the car is much, much less than the normal self-discharge of the battery.

There are some caveats here - first off, make sure nothing silly is going on, like you've left your wired-in radar detector on, or the trunk light is stuck on and you don't see it. Next, make sure the battery is clean. A wipe-down with a paper towel soaked in water with a little baking soda, followed by a towel with clean water then dried. A dirty battery will discharge itself quickly. Small amounts of acid can leak out of the battery and combine with dirt, dust, grease, and moisture in the air to form a greasy film on the battery. This film can conduct electricity, and can actually discharge the battery by forming a conduction path between the posts. It's not a huge discharge, but it's always there.

A clean battery, no hidden trunk light, and a nice charge, and the car should be fine.
