that a company thought my family looked good enough to be used as advertisement. Would I want a cut of the money? Nah, just the idea that we photographed well and that others deemed our likenesses to be portrayable in frames, magazines, newspaper ads, etc. would be more than enough.

What I see here is one of the many problems with this world: money. Why is it not good enough for people just to be elated with the notion that something they own is thought of as good enough to be made into a clock? Think about it: out of all the pictures of cars this guy probably looked at, he thought the car owned by Richard was the best. Damn, that's impressive. And you should be holding your peacock feathers high, Richard!!!!! I know I would be. I'd love to know that my car is beautiful, hot, awesome. No amount of money in this world could ever beat the feeling of pride one attains from those who admire what he/she has. If receiving remuneration was the only way one would feel good about such a thing (actually, about anything), then that's a poor soul who doesn't understand the true meaning of what being a human being is all about. Again, it's NOT supposed to be about money. It's supposed to be about enjoying what you have, and being grateful that you are able to own it and enjoy it.

BTW: I thought it is only illegal to "steal" one's work only if the work is copyrighted (books, music, etc.). Otherwise, it's fair game...
