My 95 Aero cabin fan speed controller quit several months ago. Upon removal, I noticed that the connector had fried (one of the heavy guage wires in the connector). I replaced the fried resistor in the unit and reinstalled it. I reconnected it as best as I could and the fan functioned perfectly for two days. I then smelled a whiff of smoke and the fan kicked up to high. It blew on high for several weeks without a complaint and then went dead.

I am of the impression that the blower motor is fine, just that the fried connector is now not making a constant connection and that is causing tremendous heat at the connection and throughout the cicuit board, causing it to fail. I intend to get a junkyard speed control unit and the (hopefully good) wiring leading to it.

My question - is there a good electric conducting grease that I could apply to the connector ends that would better guarantee a solid electrical connection? Would simple antiseize compound work?

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
