Sorry to hear about those recent problems your having. I agree that with getting a rebuilt trans shipped($2,000), head gasket replacement($1,000)your talking a good $3,000 dollars. Possibly more like $4,000+ totaled up depending on what else needs fixed/replaced when you or your mechanic get in there. Have you thought about trying to find a used engine with tranny form a salvage yard? From a saab of the same vintage with maybe alot lesser miles? If you could, that would probably be a better route considering you might be able to get both items for say, $2,000 or less and then just swap the old engine/trans for the new. If you do the work your self, that will save money. If you do the swap, that makes it even easier.

That's probably what I'd do, because the $4,000+ for all the work you might need seems like alot of money. A 95 Aero for $3,500 sounded good I guess, until now.
