In '91 and earlier, only the automatic tranny cars had a two-speed fan. Manual tranny cars had a single speed. In '92, both auto and manual cars had a two-speed fan.
Of course, I'm making the big assumption you are in the US market - things are different in other parts of the world.

The two wires on the switch indicate that you have a single speed fan, so there is no resistor. So you can stop looking now. My guess is that yours is an early '92. It's not like they were that exact about switchovers.

The fan switch should have a black wire and a blue wire. With the car turned to ON, measure the voltage (to ground) on the BLUE wire. It should be more than 10 volts or so. If it isn't, the problem isn't in the switch, but in the fan relay or related fuses. It is an electronic time delay relay mounted in the relay box in the engine compartment. The switch doesn't run the fan - it engages the relay, and the relay runs the fan. There are also two fuses in that box related to the fan - if one or the other is blown, that won't help.

If you see voltage on the blue wire, measure the resistance of the black wire to ground. It should be only a few ohms. If not, the connection of the black wire to ground is bad. Try shorting the blue wire to ground - if the fan runs, the ground on the switch is bad.

If everything checks out but the fan still won't run, pull the fan relay. Measure the voltage at pin 30 on the relay socket. It should be 12 volts. If not the fuse or the wiring to the fuse is bad. Jumper pins 30 to 87 in the relay socket. That should connect the fan directly through its fuse. The fan should run. If it doesn't either the fan is bad, or the fan has a bad ground.

You should be able to take it from there...
