dbreid,

An O2 sensor reading .6 to .78 indicates the engine is running rich, (overfueling). Readings of 0.0 to 0.06 indicate a fuel cutoff.
A fuel pressure gauge attached to the fuel rail might help determine if the cause is related to the fuel pump or the Trionic ECU.

The SAAB Traction Control System manual states:
"Control module activation codes must be used after replacing the ETS control module. Failure to do so will result in driveability problems!"

and

"Command Code 974 must be used before replacing the throttle housing to prevent internal damage during ignition switch on!"

Additionally, you need to verify the ETS control module under your driver's seat is actually for 93TR2.3 by entering Command Code 380 on ISAT with the igntion key in RUN, engine off.

Software identification ETS control module
(Obtained using Command Code 380)
ETS CODE ETS MODULE SAAB P/N VERSION DATE TIME

93 977 5DA 006 072 03 4300075 03REL00 08:40 13.03.92

93-1/2 97C 5DA 006 072 05 4300539 05REL04 11:48 18.02.93

Once confirmed, enter Command Code 97C.

THEN, follow the ETS CALIBRATION steps below:

TCS CALIBRATION

1.) Start the engine.

2.) Bring it to normal operating temperature, (radiator fan cycles).
(If the engine won't idle correctly, perform steps 3. through 8. and enter command Code No. 974 BASIC DATA prior to

repeating Step 1.)

3.) Turn the ignition key OFF.

4,) Connect Capacitor (Adapter Lead 86 11 048) between ISAT and the 347 black connector under the right front seat.

5.) Turn the ignition key to RUN, engine off.

6.) Select DIAG ONE system on the ISAT menu.

7.) Enter system No. 3, ETS.

8.) Check for fault codes stored in ETS.
(If fault codes are present, perform diagnosis.
Enter Command Code No. 900 to Clear All Fault Codes before continuing.)

9.) Enter Command Code No. 971, BASE-LINE SETTING.
(While processing, ISAT will display 8A971.
After several seconds, ISAT display will change to 8D971,
The system is ready for calibration.
IF ISAT doesn't display 8D971 you will have to return to step 1.)

10.) Enter Command Code No. 973, CALIBRATION.

11.) Wait for "TCS CTRL" to illuminate.
(This indicates CALIBRATION is ready to proceed.)

12.) START the engine. Do NOT touch any controls.
(Initially idle will labor around 400 RPM, then climb to 3000 RPM before stabilizing at 850 RPM.

13.) Wait for "TCS CTRL" to extinguish.
(This indicates CALIBRATION is complete.)

14.) Enter Command Code 800 to Terminate communications.

15.) Turn the ignition key to OFF.

16.) Repeat steps 5. through 8.

Happy Trails!
