Hi Todd,

As Sully says,

It is likely to be a loose vacuum hose or a hole in one of the many.

So many problems in Saabs are directly attributable to the (lack of) vacuum.

There are several gauges/switches/junctions behind the dashboard that you need to check. You can do this by becoming a contortionist for a few minutes and getting your head in (and up) at floor level with a torch and having a good look around. If you are lucky you may see a hose or hoses disconnected - if not then I need more specific information.

Whistling noises can be caused by automatic transmission, cabin fans, wind noise, sexy females, stranded aliens, deep-sea divers, gastric problems, Police sirens, loose-fitting false teeth, faulty ears, brain drain, stress, driving cars that are not Saabs, watching too much TV, walking in sandals, drinking excess beer (or cider in my case), being born by Caesarian Section (or dropped on your head at Birth), liking other people's Babies, believing in Buddha or Reincarnation, fishing for Carp, thinking Texas is cool, having damp underpants (don't know what you Guys in USA call them (Smalls?), or generally reading this Saab Bulletin Board - we are all together in this after all.

You can reply if you wish Men, but please be careful. I am not Paranoid. Paranoia is when you think Folks are out to get you. I don't think, I KNOW for sure that someone is going to get me.
