A SMBC oir MBC might make it more spirited.

K&N intake or K&N filter? So you don't need an air box mod?

With those mods, some head work would be nice. A dremel with a small tip does not lend it self to controlled contours. You can do some work with a carbide cutter to port match and blend, then blow out the cuttings. But if you are going to use abrasives, you have to remove the valves, then wash things completely before reassembly. So its really very much about time. If you can garage the Saab with the head off and take your time and have an altertive vehicle to drive, it might be fun and rewarding.

I have read some things that suggest that the exhaust manifold to turbo might be badly mismatched. You want to remove any opposing step restrictions, but not to enlarge things in the turbine casing too much as the flow has to be restricted again anyways before it hits the wheel.

There should be some exhaust port to manifold mismatch to resist exhaust gas reverse flow. That should not be removed. But any roughness can be blended out.

There is a company that sells the abrasive tips that you need for such work. Ask on the perf BB. You use those with an electric drill or flex shaft. A die grinder or dremel can be used with a carbide, but again, small bits will not produce good work.
