Oil Leaking????

I had my oil changed at a mobile oil station on sept 26. About a week later I noticed a burning oil smell when the car was running idle or coming to a stop at a stoplight or stop sign. I noticed smoke coming out from under the car. I called the oil change place and they said it was probably excess oil that might have spilled on the manifold. It has gotten worse over the past month so I took it back to the place this past saturday and they looked at it and said i have a leak that is running down from the pan and dripping onto the converter. They checked the fluids and all are full. What could be causing this leak? Was too much oil put in at the last oil change and blew a seal. I took it back to the shop today and the manager called a SAAB dealership and spoke to a service adviser. He told me that the service adviser told him that the 2002 9-3 se motor has oil overfill valves. meaning if too much oil is put it to the engine it has a valve that lets the excess oil out. which is causing the dripping and oil puddle and why the oil level has not dropped. I have never heard of this before nor can I find out anything about them. Could someone help me any kinda advice would be nice. Im thinking its a rear main seal on the engine. The car is automatic transmission. Its all wet with oil on the underside of the motor all the way up to the starter, and dripping off the oil pan maybe behind the starter. The leak is pretty severe when idling for 10 mins a puddle about the size of a softball. ANY HELP PLEASE!!!
