I've been chasing this noise for a while, but haven't quite done as much as you. This whirring noise was coming from the front end, I figured it was the bearings, I bought two and had them pressed in. It was obvious that one of the bearings was bad (some play), so I figured I was out of the clear. Got to driving the car again, and the noise creeped back. Sounds a little like a wheel bearing, but different. I bought some used axles and some remans... haven't decided which ones to use yet, but also just haven't had the time to swap them.

I was just wondering if you had figured it out yet, I would appreciate any input.
