Cross-drilled rotors are a very effective upgrade to a performance car braking system. Just look at how many high dollar, super-high performance cars come with them standard. Lets see, all Porsches, all Ferraris, Lamborghinis, high-end BMWs, Mercedes (factory and AMG), TVRs, high-end Jaguars, Aston-Martins, and many more factory vehicles come with cross-drilled rotors. So you are saying these are all "ricer" cars?

Lets see, just about every motorcycle in production at the moment comes with cross-drilled rotors as well, including Harley-Davidsons. Go tell a Harley owner, he or she is a "ricer".

I agree that for some drivers, that higher performance brakes are perhaps a waste of money. For most drivers, however, I think that better braking ability is needed. Try slowing your Saab from 100 mph down to 60 as fast as you can and see how bad the stock brakes will fade. While you are doing that, some "ricer" with his cross-drilled rotors and higher performance pads will stop quicker and you'll be eating his bumper with yours.

I would think that all car drivers would wish for better braking ability, not just performance oriented ones. And yes, cross-drilled rotors work better in wet weather as well.

Just my opinion.
