strut mount problems again and again! (long)

Okay, I had an accident in December and had all the driver side suspension components replaced (lower control arm, trailing control arm, wheel bearing, wheel, and strut housing). After I got the car back there was a popping sound which sounded like it was coming from the strut mount. With the wheel unweighted, I was able to see that there was movement in the strut housing and had the shop where I had the repairs done replace the strut mount. That was last Monday. They put in a new strut mount, thrust bearing, washers, etc. For four days it was perfect! Not a sound from the suspension! Then on Thursday, the popping noises began again! And movement in the strut housing is observed again. I'm going to take it back in again but I can't believe that after 4 days a strut mount would go bad! The top nut seems to be pretty tight. Any ideas here? Did the shop forget to do something? I want to be prepared with possible ideas, responses to what the mechanic observes. thanks in advance!
