I am the proud owner of a 2000 SE, just purchased off Saabnet. As a result, my trusty old 1994 SE (131k) after 10 years of service will be retired soon. I have been more fortunate than most as far as repairs go, nothing major to date and still on my original clutch. I figured that if my 94 model was THAT good and it was the worst year, the 00 should be even better.

Since my 94 SE will soon need a new clutch, oil seal, a/c hoses, exhaust studs (2 are broken), a balance shaft chain tensioner, new front struts and mounts, and new door speakers it was a good time to retire her. Now the rest of the car is in pristine condition and everything works, even all the electronics and the car still runs great. I would not want to sell the car to someone unless they understood what the repairs entailed. I have considered the following;

1. Adverise the car on Saabnet for a low price. Someone can use it as a parts car or if handy enough, could fix everything for under 1,500.00 in parts.

2. Donate it to a charity - value the car at full retail, like the American Kidney Foundation (they are supposed to be the most reputable)and take the tax writeoff.

3. Part the car out myself. Forget it, my wife already nixed this one.
