You can do far more damage in $$ with the wrong setup than you would save. I am not sure about the Ryobi, but the key is "random orbital". Don't cheap out on that - its easy to burn paint. All in the right tools and pad will cost $150 + tax. $99 for the Porter Cable 7336 and $50 for a good set of pads. Its a machine you will own for a lifetime and is also a sander should you need one. For me it was worth it and I only go nuts detailing 3-4 times a year. A good PC can get out some scratches. Might be worth it when selling to have a pristine car vs. average - that will pay for the setup itself. Just my opinion. I lived without a PC for years and did everything by hand. Now that I have a PC I would love to take back time....
