while moving, air would be more likely to travel through the intercooler than into the snorkel (it will always want to travel in a straight line). plus, since the snorkel is pointing sideways, you are more likely to get a venturi effect than a ram air effect (so no worries about air traveling out the stock location). at idle, air isn't traveling through the intercooler anyway , it becomes a preheater (unless you add a fan, but that is a completely different problem). therefore, the only air getting into either of the snorkels is a result of the turbo "sucking". the intent is only to increase the suction area without pulling in warmer air. i think if you go this route, and add a fan to the ic, you will double the intake area (not necessarily intake volume). may even allow the turbo to spin up quicker since it won't have as much restriction to pull air through. just a few thoughts though. let me know how yours turns out. i'll get back about mine. btw, could mount the 8v intake under the leading edge of the hood (in its stock location) and then just tie in an extra opening to the filter housing...
