Any backpressure with a turbo car is bad. That's an old wives tale that says you need backpressure in a car.

It's not lack of backpressure that makes a naturally aspirated car lose low end torque with a very large exhaust. It's loss of *velocity* that does it. Big difference.

Turbo cars on the other hand are idea with NO EXHAUST off the turbine. But since we can't do that we compromise.

If you are looking for the biggest restriction in the car, looking at my 900C I would say the cat back. Mine has a nice 2.5" system up to the cat, and then the cat back necks down to about 2.25". This was a Saab dealer installed exhaust (Guy before me did it) so I don't know if this is the case in all of them or not but I see that as being a restriction.

Gutting the cat also helps and it's FREE. That's why mine is gone. The Saab is not my project car but free mods are free mods. For the price of a slice of Pizza I've gotten a LOT more performance out of this Saab...no scratch that. For the price of a penny candy I've gotten a lot of performance out of this car so far.

I might actually spend some money on it soon. ;-)
