I thought spending $600+ on a system wasn't worth it to me so I went the cheap route. $60 in labor as well as piping to go from my cat back in the OEM dia. My 88 SPG is actually quieter then my 87 SPG which had a glasspack in place of the muffler & at least to me, it's about the perfect volume. I can hear it at any speed but it's not annoying unlike the glasspack at 3500 RPM's. However others have tried the straightpipe setup on their C900's & have stated it's to loud. I plan on taking my other 88 SPG in to the shop & having a straightpipe added to that car. Hopefully it will sound the same but when I finally get it done (going to be a few weeks) I will report back :o)

Having a better downpipe is definantly something I will add in the future & hopefully a saab performance shop that I support will come out with one I will buy!

I also thought that since it was only $60 for all the work, if it was to loud I wasn't out to much $$$ & I would then order the SPG9 stainless system for C900's.
